- Started his own branch of Islamic philosophy based in the works of Aristotle
- Wrote a book on general medicine, titled Kalliyat
- Was one of the first people to define “force” as physicists do today
- Wrote several legal works within the Maliki school of Islamic law. He is still highly regarded as a jurist even today.
